Week 1
Updated: Feb 20, 2024

This week, I presented my ideas for the projects I developed over the winter. I decided to continue the general idea of my research from Pre-thesis, focusing on increased interaction in immersive spaces.
The main feedback element I got was that the interaction elements seem to be the most important, while the ride mechanics and one of the knowledge upload methods could be cut out to streamline the idea.
One of the professors, Pip, recommended I look at the British Theater Company Punchdrunk, and upon researching them, I found an element that felt interesting. They frequently incorporate masks in their productions for audience members, which offers greater anonymity. Because of this, guests explore more. The increased anonymity is something I want to explore since it would provide a great avenue for story immersion.
This is definitely something I am planning on doing. The next steps are for me to decide on what I want to remove, and how I want to build whatever it is that I keep.
