Week 11

This week was a feedback meeting for my paper. A useful piece of feedback I got was to go into explaining myself more. I tend to make a lot of leaps of faith, and my professor advised me to go deeper into explanation. A goal he gave me was that even without the pictures it should still be perfectly clear what it is that I’m trying to do.
I also had some more revelations independent of the session on how to go forward with my paper. Given the current progress on my paper, I do think I need to develop the research stage more. My professor briefly brought up the research when he was giving me feedback and I realized I should not simply sum it up but actually go in depth as to what it is that I did, who it is that I spoke to, and what conclusions I drew.
When I brought up my concerns over my audience's understanding that I was giving them an idea rather than a finished experience, my professor introduced me to the concept of axonometric sketches. I thought this was a really interesting avenue to explore. He said that with this format people will generally assume this is not a finished product, but a demonstration of one. I thought this was a really interesting avenue to explore and so going forward, I think I want to incorporate something like this.
I am considering using a blueprint-style sketch to showcase my un-themed room rather than a render in unreal like I was originally planning. In After Effects I would then animate my scenes over the sketch to drive home the concept of a mockup.
